Saleen, u arent kidding. I remember couple of summers ago, i would have been one of the fastest, but 2 years later, everybody around here has at least 700hp, with a LOT lof twin turbo cobras in the area putting down over 1000hp. It blows my mind and cant imagine having that much power and using it as a daily driver.

1000 HP cars are almost common here now. i can name 5 STREET cars with over 1000 to the wheels off the top of my head.

i'm not saying it is usable power, but it would still be nice to have.
personally i'm happy with my car with race gas on the street. mid 650's and sticky tires feel good on the road

I hear you guys!!! My Cobra like I said holds it's own, but I fear for what I will run into in '09!! With the Z06 becoming more popular and affordable, and the ZR1 running around soon, I bought myself an 04 Cobra. Whippled, 2.3L 17psi. 595RWHP....I hope that will be enough. Now I just need to make the thing stay planted. It's almost too much power!!...I think 500RWHP would be best. Good power, good traction. It is a disease as stated!!

South Carolina too, lots of 10-11 second daily drivers popping up.

well spederman ill be right there with ya bud. i too am pushing my stock block to the limit. i already have a snow performance stage 2 meth kit awaiting install. but i am on the kb so im wondering how well its going to do with that instant boost. im also going to run 14psi in her. i wanna see if i can crack 500rwhp.

also if you go meth and you wanna squeeze some more power out of it without more boost snow performance sells nitromethane to put in the methanol tank. they say its good for 30-50hp without any tuning.

i am prepared for the consequences as well. I am deciding between either the mmr900 or mmr950 stroker motor. so who know maybe 2 stangnet members will be walking for the next few months hahahaha. good luck man

I cant believe you want to crack 500hp@14psi, LOL. That's awesome, thats more balls than i even have

Didnt know that you could put nitromethane in there, is their any consequences from it over methanol?

I'm looking at the mmr900 for sure if this thing lets go.

nitromethane is just rich in oxygen so it adds more power that way. it comes in an 8oz bottle you pour that in then add the methanol and fill it the rest of the way. but yea ill try and get 500 on 14psi on the meth. im worried though when she lets go it will take the kenne bell out with it hahaha.

here is the link to the nitro methane. its called nitro booster
Snow Performance: Nitro Booster?

You should do a compression test and post up the results, that would tell exactly how shes holding up to your abuse, lol.

I would be too, but I would do it anyway. You never know, you may suprise yourself and us and be right up there with the durability of HotMustangs stock engine...

Sounds good.

I was let down when I did mine. All were good, then I got 1 cylinder at 145 psi with the rest between 165-170... ok, no biggy... then two came back at 120 and 121 psi...

May seem like a dumb Q but why not just go ahead an upgrade your internals to forged now? Since the stock block can hold and the question is when will the rods go and take out god knows what else with it and cost you an arm and a leg more in rebuilding everything. You could even get a forged stroker setup and handle all of it in one. Just throwing that out there. Good luck with it all. Hope if you do throw a rod it doesnt take out the KB! That would suck!

well ill be getting a new shortblock over the summer anyways but i dont think its going to let go at least yet. i wont be running 14psi till about april. i could just drop in new internals but then if my cylinder walls are screwed up then i need to bore it out so i would rather just get a brand new block and start from scratch.

cams would help the motor make power efffciently.. which in turn would be alot safer than just uping the boost. Hell most of the time cams actually loose boost.
