Pushrod length checker, add .030?

Read a ton in the archives....but no really clear answer.

Once you convert your hydraulic lifter to solid with internal washers and you have the pushrod length checker at "zero lash" on the motor. do you add .030 to this length to take into account the preload you are going to need?
I say yes....
Correct?

Yup, once you achieved the correct narrow pattern on the valve stem tip. Measure the Pushrod, then add the preload to the length. I use .020-.030.
