pushrod length?

I am helping my dad work on his 69 stang. We are putting on 351W heads on his 302. My question is what length pushrods do we need? The old heads where stud mount rockers and the new ones are pedastal mount rockers. I'm pretty sure oyu need different lengths but I have no idea what length.

I tried asking this on the classic boards but I geuss those guys didnt like us newer stang guys in the board LOL.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You have to measure. No if's and's or but's about it.

You have to use a pushrod lengh checker. Summit sells them you will also need to use a solid lifter for accurate #'s.

Thanks guys. I was just doing some searchs and saw all the same answers you guys gave me. I geuss summit it will be.

$11.39 to be exact

I picked one up to check the length for my TW headed 347. Hopefully it needs 6.7".

That length (6.7"-~7.5") is normally for a 351W block and heads. I bought mine with a 6.1-6.6" adjustment range. Stock is 6.272" for a 5.0 motor.

Tom, TW heads take a longer pushrod. My 302 used a 6.7". I'm hoping that its still good for the 347 even though the blocks zero deck, the cam changed and the heads were milled a little more.

Gotcha - forgot about the heads your running. Are you using the offset rockers for the TW heads too?

I've been using Ford Racing 1.6 3/8" stud rockers for 4 years. I'm reusing them.
