i sorta agree with that. just put a pypes o/r X on my 2000. the actual x pipe is nice quality but the fitment isn't the best. had somewhat of a difficult time eliminating exhaust leaks (still have a very minor one). the price is right. i got mine in stainless form for $161.98 shipped. you wont find a new stainless mid pipe for that price anywhere else.

they say bassani or dr gas is the way to go but id be hot if i paid retail for either of those and the fitment wasnt any better.

also keep in mind: i THINK upr and pypes are pretty much the same company. dont quote me on that tho.

I have pypes o/r x and catback and I like it. You have to mess with it to get it to fit exact but mine fits and looks 100% fine.

How about the PYPES shorty headers for 4.6 2v? any exhaust leak issues?

shorty headers wont do crap for your car, only reason i have them is because they were on the car when i got it. get some longtubes, you will get a decent power gain and it will sound much better as well.

There are no leak issues if you use a gasket sealer. The shorties are also very difficult to install. There is very limited space.

If you want to give advice that someone would consider of value, why not say 'i had trouble installing my Pypes' and then explain the problem instead of making a gross mistatement infering that all pypes products don't fit.

I've got a combination of both BBK (Long tubes and H pipe) and Pypes (mufflers and tips) exhaust on my '02 and it sounds awesome, hell it made me buy the car! I don't have the Pypes parts your talking about but for the money you can beat them with stainless steel.

I have heard a lot of good things about pypes exhaust. The mufflers sound pretty damn good, IMO. And, like previously said you won't find another brand of SS midpipe/catback for that price. Overall from what I have heard/read pypes products are a great value for the money.

FYI, The 'BEAST' package is simply the Pypes Violator Catback combined with a Pypes off-Road X-pipe. It's a sales kit that Pypes asks dealers to promote. Both kits are stainless. The catback utilizes the Violator muffler which has great flow like a Magnaflow muffler but a chambered sound that is usually appreciated by the 4.6 motor . The Pypes X-pipe is a siamese design (same as Dr. Gas, UPR, SLP) as apposed to clamshell design(BBK, Magnaflow). Siamese design has better high end torque and HP and a little quieter. But quiet is not the appropriate word for the 'Beast'.

Good luck with whatever you decide. It's hard to make a Mustang GT sound bad.
