Many questions about the quality of 50resto parts.

Just like many of you,i'm in the process of replacing faded or worn out interior parts.Headlights etc..Buying replacement parts from 50resto but..how good is the quality of their materials? Do the replacement armrest pads on door panels and center consoles feel cheap or too hard? How would you compare them to OEM parts brand new? They don't break too easily as in some of the old OEM parts did,do they? And do they last? Also, the headlights,I'm getting the crystal clear diamond kit.How well do these hold up and do the seals on them last?

I know this a lot of Q's.But I really need to know. Not trying to be too picky on parts but I also don't want cheaply made parts that'll break or look like crap.I want this car to look as good as it did the day it came off the line.....well...maybe I wont get it looking that good...but you know what I mean.

If some of you can, maybe tell about the interior/exterior parts you replaced using 50resto and your opinion of them.If they are not the way to go on parts then I'd really like to know where else I could get them.

Thank you all for your time on this post.

I have bought door handle bezels, inside mirror covers, and interior paint. Also the parking and corner lights that are KRS reproductions. No real problem with any of my purchases ,plus they will make it right.

I just recently installed the 6 peice headlight kit and the passenger side headlight is already loaded with moisture and looks like crap. I say spend the extra 20 bucks and get the OEM

I've bought carpet, headlights, door armrest pads and door/hatch seals. The carpet was okay, not great. The aftermarket headlights were junk. I never got the armsrests put on. I tried but there's one place where a factory screw is supposed to attach and on the factory armrest the part is metal. On the Resto armrest it's plastic and I could never get it to set down properly. The door/hatch seals worked very well.

It's hit or miss with Resto's parts I think.

I've purchased some stuff from them. The biggest purchase was a 6 piece clear headlight set. After a few months the passenger side light started getting moisture in it. Called them up and they shipped out a new light right away. No hassle or anything like that. There are always going to be problems with parts at some time, that can't be completely avoided, but how a company responds with their customer service is extremely important. Due to their quick customer service I am willing to pay a little more for a part knowing that if I have a problem it will be resolved quickly.

Other stuff I have bought is ashtray door and kit, door latch bezels, striker bushings and other little stuff. No probs with any of it.

Has anyone bought their door speaker grills and rear hatch speaker grills??

I need some in black since mine are a little dirty. I just don't want to get some cheap plastic knock-offs.

The door seals and arm rest pads suck, the pads are horrible to try to fit...and the door seals are too thin and flimsy.

The carpet is OK, I measured and carefully fit in place, but the molded driver side plastic cover doesn't align right.

Good luck with them, I ordered a bunch of stuff from them and never got my order. They told me it shipped 3 different times and when I asked them for the tracking number the last time they said "we're sorry your order didn't get shipped out", my response was "cancel it".

I get OEM when they offer it, but I haven't had any problems with any parts.

The only part that has 'broke' or faded was a console latch, but it was my fault by pulling on it to hard.

I have ordered probably 30-40 different items from them. Maybe more...

And I keep going back...

I ordered a set of side view mirrors from them a while back to replace my badly faded ones (one had a crack so I decided to replace them both instead of getting them painted). After about a month both of them faded and looked like crap. I called them and after some pushing I got them to take them back. It took about 3 weeks to get my refund after they had the part. I had to call them 3-4 times. They did give me my money back, and didn't have to, but it wasn't easy.

I still buy stuff from them and am about to buy about 400 dollars in resto parts.

I am gald you guys mentioned the arm pads are crap. I was going to buy them.

I have had great luck with all of their stuff so far...but I haven't ordered any interior stuff yet.
I did have a problem with a OEM fan that cracked within weeks of install. One call and they shipped me a new one, no hassles, so I give their customer service an A+.
I would like to hear more about the headlight issue as I am about to order a set of the diamonds.

funny you mention customer service. I feel like im in the middle of a prank call when i call there. I do order form there all the time. I spent 1000 dollars there a month ago. It seems like i get the same guy when i call and he sounds like a toothless, brainless hillbilly. He always says "yezsir".

I've always had good service from 50resto and never had any real issues until this weekend. I ordered and received a new headliner for a '90 sunroof stang and, after following all directions, the liner leaves a 3-4" gap between the liner and the sunroof. I have to send them pics so they can make suggestions. Aside from this, they really do have some great service in my opinion. Of course I have to have the most trouble with a sorta expensive item.
