When i was driving home from work the other day i pushed in the clutch and felt a click with my foot now the clutch does not engage or disengage i was adjusting the clutch quadrant and felt the click when i adjusted it and realized that it was like the same click i felt in my foot when i pressed it in . How often do the quadrants go bad and would this effect that i cannot engage the clutch to shift? it still pulls the clutch cable and the cable pulls the fork and puts pressure on the pressure plate., but when the clutch is released it backs off the pressure plate but it never stops touching it . is this normal. i need help really badly so some feedback would be nice.

Your problem is that you have the stock adjuster setup. You need to get an aftermarket firewall adjuster and quadrant. They are very simple to install and will correct your problem.

Specifically, cable stretch and worn clutch combined with the fact that your stock setup is no longer capable of adjusting means your cannot disengage your clutch.

The stock setup uses plastic gears in the adjust mechanism which just simply wear out

You can fix this for less than $100 yourself.

Can Somone Help?

I am really confused about what is wrong with my stang, I was driving it home, and i noticed a Click, in the clutch when i pressed it in to shift into neutral, now it won't engage or disengage. I finally got it home and i was messing around with the quadrant, and noticed that when i adjusted it i felt the same click in my hand, that i felt when i was driving it home. could this be why id doesn't engage or disengage? I dont know what the problem is could it be the quadrant needs replacing or re adjusting?, could it be a stretched clutch cable?, or might it be both?
