Easiest way to remove quadshocks on my 91 gt. Got the new rims ready just need quadshock removed. And tools and sizes if possible. Thanks!

Try re-arranging them on the mounts instead of not using them.

Put the quad shocks back on if you took them off or don’t have them installed.

The quad shocks are a roll of the dice. No matter what the combination of tires, control arms and shocks, some cars will wheel hop without quad shocks and some won't. There are so many variables in 34-18 year old cars with wear, misalignment and combinations of suspension components and tires that one unchanging answer won't work for everyone.

I personally would install them, and make sure they are in good shape. I do know this, that Ford is cheap. If they could have made changes in some simple component like bushings or control arm construction and saved $10, they would have done it. Multiply $10 times all the Fox body Mustangs ever made and you would be almost as rich as Donald Trump. That's a lot of $$$, and good incentive to engineer something to do away with the quad shocks.

When I bought my 93 I went around and did all the shocks on it except the quad's (I didn't realize there were quad's when I ordered everything). The old ones were completely blown as I think they were the originals. The car would fishtail horribly when doing clutch dumps. I ordered a set of quad's and after an hour had them both in and the handling was great afterwards with nice straight launches.

There ya go, With stock control arms you 100% need them. With aftermarket ones, it is hit and miss.

i've had them off with both the stockers and my mm's and never had any hop. it's one of those things where its insanely simple to try it both ways, so you might as well see what it does.

Quad shocks don't control fish tailing....they control wheel hop.

Your "fish tail" issues is likely due to rotted/worn out stock control arm bushings and body flex.

Replace the bushings....or better yet, the upper and lower control arms, weld in a set of full length subframe connectors and it'll straighten your car right out.

I haven't had any issues since I replaced the quads, if/when it comes back I'll check the bushings and control arms.
