How is the quality of the 2005 mustang paint? Is the trademark "orange peal" appearance (especially in dark color mustangs) still there? I'm curious if Ford is using any different/improved techniques for painting these mustangs. Hope these new stangs do not chip any easy either.

If you want the orange peel gone, take it to a body shop and have them wetsand it. Then re clear it. Not he cheapest option, but if it bugs you that much, that's the best you can do. Save repainting the whole car.

Now that the Stang is being built at the Flat Rock plant I would hope the paint quality would be much improved over the cars that came out of the old River Rouge Dearborn plant. I thought the painting facilities at Flat Rock were more state of the art.

I have had a few comments on the Redfire Metalic paint, no orange peel here

I've got a legend lime GT and the orange peel is very minimal, all in all a very nice paint job: especially compared to my 01 super duty(black)
