Can they be saved? Possible to sand em down instead of going out and paying $70 each + shipping

I have seen them sanded and fixed with the cover up mouldings but it doesnt look right imo i would get new ones if possible

I was thinking of bringing up this same topic, Turkey your windows would be an upgrade compared to mine. My windows look and feel like 40 grit sandpaper all around, and when I wash the stang wax and lint gets in the gritty moldings.

I have heard of people sanding them down and primering them with high build primer. Everone I seen or talked to about it says it take alote of time.

Your choices are few. Sand them down and build them up then paint them or replace the window with a aftermarket replacement(Which had curve problems and did not fit correctly) since Carlite and PPG has not made replacements for 10+ years.

Sammich....I have one before shot. it's far away...but mine were just as bad. I sanded them with 80 grit on a DA sander. Then I laid 4 coats of high build SEM primer and sanded them with 320. I repeated this procress until they were smooth. Next, I painted them with SEM flat black flexible paint. Then I cleared them with SEM Semi-Gloss clear coat. You must do this. I didin't clear coat the first set I refinished, and they slightly lifted later on down the road. Buy the clear coat...trust me. Don't spend 70 each, spend about 20-30 and you'll have what I have.

I did mine and found the best filler material was the two part plastic bumper repair filler. It expands about the same rate as the orginal material and have lasted over two years now.

I basically did what svt did sooooo....follow that and your good to go. They turn out really good and don't take much time at all.

Anytime. The bumer filler stuff will work too, but I would only recommend using that if the moldings are thin and brittle. I have a pair on this coupe here in the yard. They are too thin to repair my way, so bumper filler would be better on that application.
