I recently scored a very nice set of quarter windows for my 90. I plan on swapping them soon as the weatherstrip around the originals are just about gone. My question is am I going to need some 3m weatherstrip adhesive? I'm going to assume so to get them to seal. Would I just need to run one bead around the perimeter of the window (on the inside of course).

I just want to make sure I do this right the first time.

When you take your stock ones off, you'll see where Ford used adhesive...and LOTS of it. I would just apply sealant in the same area Ford did. I probably would not use weatherstripping adhesive. I don't think that will lay down thick enough and provide enough of a seal. Something along the lines of a windshield adhesive/sealant would work better.

I've used the 3M stuff in the past to do both auto glass, and rebuild the carb boots on my snowmobile. That stuff works great for everything.

Thanks guys. I'm going to use 3M Window Weld, I think it was mentioned in that link also. I'm going to put them in with my new headliner and sun visors.

Just need some black or dark charcoal 94-04 leather seats and my interior will be finished.

I wouldn't use windshield urethane in a tube on quarter glass! Next time they'll need removed you'll have to auto glass installer to cut them out, which you do not want with all those studs. Windshield urethane is for sealing glass that doesn't have studs to secure it to the body. I used 3M window ribbon on my car, just like Ford did, and no problem with mine.

Yea, I wasn't taking about window weld lol. Should have clarified. 3M makes sealer in tube version that acts the same as the ribbon Reef suggested. Same purpose, different way to apply.

DO NOT use urethane unless you NEVER want to remove them. You will need a glass shop to cut them out and probably ruin them. Use the ribbon, roll, or the tube of stuff suggested above. Make sure it doesn't say "superfast" urethane.
