I need some help in deciding between these two air intakes; MAC Straight Shot w/ 85mm MAF or C&L Trueflow w/ 80mm MAF. I do have the Accufab 75mm TB and the C&L Plenum. It's going to be between these two, I just want to know how they compare in the performance side of things. I like the way they both look and don't care about the cost differences. Can anyone help me?? Thanks in advance.

Those are pretty large MAF and TB. Do you plan on adding cams down the road, or a centrifigal supercharger?

The large bore on the MAF and TB won't benefit you with such meager bolt on mods until you have some work done to the engine where it needs to breath.

Correct, replacing the MAF is the biggest waste of money until you are making alot of power. As far as Intakes go get a plastic one I suggest Densecharger and for TB and plenums I would go with Accufab.

So, I shouldn't get a bigger MAF until I do cams or a supercharger? I am gettting ready to replace my whole exhaust with a full SLP setup(LT Headers, x-pipe, cat-back). Would that help any? If not, then can't I get the MAC Straight shot without the bigger MAF?

dont waste your money on a maf...you would be better off doing you full exhaust and then going with an sct tune

I already have the SCT chip with tune and have already ordered the full exhaust. So, with that said, will I still not see any more gains adding the MAF?

I say go for it....I added the C&L kit and I just dynoed at 252 rwhp this Saturday and I have almost the same mods as you except for the SCT tune which I will be getting next week so I hope to be up to 256-260 rwhp by next Friday!

you wont gain anything from a mass air unless yours is pegged, which you arent even close. with a full exhaust and another dyno tune you should net some strong numbers. trust me, I had an aftermarket maf and it was the biggest waste of money ever. you would be better off getting a cobra head shifter knob

Even with the full exhaust its still not worth buying a new MAF. You can buy the MAC straight shot without the MAF alot of people do that.

DON'T buy a MAF! My 85mm C&L MAF is sitting on a shelf...piece of $hit expensive aluminum tube that simply leans the motor out and flocks up your tune.
