So I emailed the EBAY people ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Must...008QQitemZ180211254853QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW ) on there hoods and I got this answer:

We took a mold off of an original 2000 Cobra, so the height and shape of the cowl is identical to the original (3 inch). However, we made ours a step better than the original. The original had the rear part of the cowl leaned forward toward the front of the car and it is sealed off, so there is no airflow into the engine. Ours has the cowl leaned back toward the windshield and is open at the rear for cowl induction cooling along the entire rear part of the cowl. Race testing has shown that this design will keep your inlet temp within 5 degrees of the outside air temp (The original Cobra R could raise it up to 100 degrees above ambient).

I thought that having the back open might let water into the engine

Honestly my car runs like sh1t in the rain. I need to make a custom air duct for it that moves the water away from the engine.
