I am wanting to order my exhaust today and I decided to go with the bassani. So my question: is it worth it to buy the modular x pipe and the axle backs or just the axle backs?

the x pipe will give you more of a raspy sound. ive got that setup on my 05. although, ive never heard bassani a/bs on a stock gt, ive grown to like my bassani a/bs and catted x pipe.

H pipe will give deeper sound than X pipe. Cats will make it quieter than uncatted.

I have the Bassani axle back only. I like it alot, my neighbor says I am his alarm clock. I do not think it is loud enough so I will be getting new mid pipe soon

Whichever one you choose let me know how you like it.

Does your X pipe take away any of the interior drone?

sounds good man I am planning on buying my C&L and tune either today or within a few days. So do I need to know for sure or not if I want to buy the xpipe and axle back or just the axle back before I order my tune? In other words does he need to know about the xpipe for the tune or is it that big of a deal? I am just looking at from what I read, I wont gain much performance from the x pipe, so that $400 would be nice to go towards some Tonico D-specs.

I'd say put the $400 towards the shocks... You won't get that much gain out of the X pipe to justify the cost. The shocks however will help ALL the time Had I not already bought the Flows before the H Pipe, I would've put that money towards something else as well. It sounded pretty good with O/R H and factory Mufflers.

I got the Borla exhaust with a Bassani x pipe which did not modify my cats oddly enough. When I first bought the x-pipe I thought it was the o/r one but it wasn't. Anyway my x-pipe just added a lil more horsepower than the H pipe gave me but as far as sound it didnt do anything all my sound comes from the Borla. If you want a loud, raspy but deep sound i'd definately say go with the o/r bassani x pipe.
