I just got a set of FRPP 3.73 gears from my buddy. These things are brand new. I have heard that i also need to get an installation kit as well. Is that true? Also, about what RPM will i be turning in 5th gear at highway crusin speed?

ya i just got 3.73's put in last weekend, i turned out my whole rear end was screwed so it ended up costing like $900 canadian, i had a shop put it in for me it was only supposed to cost me 175 for labour and like 80 for the bearings and seals, that install kit your talking about is basiscally bearings and seals and i 'm pretty sure you need that, as for 5th gear doin 100 km/h i turn at just under 2000 rpm

i used tu run a 2000 at 75mph (120 kph) and now i'm turning 2250 at 75mph(120kph)

Depends how many miles you have on it. The site I purchased my 4.30s from said less then 60-70,000 miles you shouldnt need a install kit. You might need a bearing kit though. I needed one for mine and i have 40,000 miles on it, also a friend of mine had gears installed and he needed a bearing kit too with 30,000 miles on it. Looks like the stock bearings have a tendency to get pitted.
