Question about Hood Clearance w/Intake Spacer

I want to run the tall FRPP valve covers. I have a 1/2 spacer. Do I need to get a 1" spacer to clear the valve covers? If I do, Will the 1" spacer clear the stock hood?

I have the tall valve covers as well because of the 1.7 rockers. I also have GT40 intake which I tried to put on with a 1 inch spacer and it would not even come close to fitting. A stock intake may be different. I had to double stack two 1" spacers together just to clear the valve covers. Luckily it fits under my 2.5" cowl but barely.
