I'm selling some parts from my 89 convertible and a guy called about some parts but has a 1990 notchback.
Just wondering which interior parts are interchangeable? Ie carpet, center console
Ford did a slightly redesign of the interior in 1990, so the 87-89 and 90-93 interiors tend to group together. You can swap an entire 90-93 interior into a 87-89 and vice versa, but mixing and matching parts is hit or miss.
For instance, you can't use an '87-89 console main body with a 90-93 dash. Where the console joins the dash is different. It can be hacked in of course. You can use some of the console parts though, like the armrest and top panel.
Dashes are different, so certain components of the dash wont interchange.
Convertibles are even more different, so really not much that will interchange properly. Biggest issue is colors, as ford did a major color palette shift in 1990, so 1989 grey will not match 1992 gray.
