Question about mustang power brake pedal for power disc brake conversion -

Now that i have commited to power front brakes and potentially going to swap my rear drums for disc brakes, I was wondering what the deal with the brake pedal is.

What Im getting is that my manual brake pedal will not fit up to my new power brake booster. Does anyone know the interchange years for power brake pedals I have a 69 mustang. Most of the power pedals Ive seen on ebay are for 66-68 and 71-73

Any Ideas on other models and years that may swap out?

one other quick one do I also have to cahng out the brake mount too??

69-70 will interchange for sure on the pedal. You will most likely have to remove the pedal support bracket in order to swap the pedals out but you don't need to get another one. When doing this, it is a good idea to check the pedal support bracket and make sure that the support for where the pedals go though is not damaged. If they are damaged you may want to consider puting in some roller bearings. Scott Drake sells a kit for this and I think Mustang Steve does as well.

I am not sure about Rusty but I needed a new brake pedal when I went from manual to power brakes in my 69.

In addition to needing a new pedal, you also have to modify the pedal support. This figure comes from the kit I bought from Master Power Brakes.

I am still running manual brakes ATM. I only upgraded to front disc, I have the rear disc waiting to go in.

On the 67 that is not necissary, just swap the pedals out. Maybe that have you do that because its an aftermarket pedal ?

After installing the booster, the manual pedal was too close to the toeboard to safely use. I estimate that you sacrifice 1/2 of the travel distance when hitting the brake if you do not use a new pedal. When we mounted the power pedal, at first we did not know about the new mounting point on the pedal support because MPB did not ship instructions with the kit. Mounting the pedal in the original point on the support resulted in a pedal that was right on the floor board. It was 100% unusable. After calling MPB and finding the instructions, we mounted on the new point and everything was fine.

Ok so I have to change the pedal. I have a budy with a 71 mustang the power pedal looks very similar to the power pedal for the 69 do any of you know if this will fit.
