Question about the `99/`01 Cobras

Another question I have is, how did Ford miss this problem? Surely they did some testing before the car rolled into showrooms. Surely they noted a lack of power. Why didn't they fix the cars before they fell into the hands of consumers? The problem isn't like the 96-98 plastic intakes cracking...I mean I wouldn't expect Ford to discover that since it didn't happen until the car got some miles on it.



Your friend does'nt know diddly squat. He's ignorant period. The 99's are just as fast as the 01's after the fix. The motor is identical, I called SVT just to make sure. The 99 fix includes: new high flow exhaust, extrude honed lower intake, reflashed computer. My 99 puts down about 300rwhp(sae). No headers, no porting, no inner fender CAI. My dyno tech said he's never seen much gains, if any, on his dynojet with cobra's that have added headers. I wonder if my car would be even higher on someone else's dyno. I think my tech's dyno is underrated.
