No, it doesn't help any when it is on (from my past experience). But, I live in Virginia Beach and I didn't drive my car in adverse weather and only on sunny days on dry roads.

I also had a 2004 S281-SC with the traction control permanently disabled. When I had it custom dyno tuned I asked my tuner to disable it. I had it permanently disabled because I was tired of forgetting to turn it off every time I got in the car. If I didn't turn it off and got on the gas real hard from a stop the car would hesitate and bog down.

Trust me, you're better off spinning your tires and going sideways than not going anywhere at all. It was very frustrating. If you want traction, get better gripping tires and a limited slip differential.

i keep it turned off when i tune a car especially a supercharged car.

Sure, but not much for racing

Being 16 and a guy I have definitely tested this system. First of all I've found its great in the rain, to prevent hydro planing, its also is good at helping you keep control when you don't mean to spin out. Other than that however it doesn't do much more than really warn you that you are spinning out, and can be a hindrance if you are racing or things of that sort. Overall however the system is great when the weather sucks, and thats about it.

I thought the c5+ vettes did that plus it'd lock up certain brakes to keep the car straight...did a couple nifty things from what I was told

It pulls timing and fuel and on a supercharged car thats a very bad combo, its best left off on any supercharged car, any reputable tuner will tell you to keep it off if you value the life of your engine, its a very poorly desingned system and is best diabled
