I am installing the kit that puts three gauges under the radio and I am installing a new CD deck at the same time. Here is what I am wondering. On the adapter wiring harness I purchased to go between my factory harness and my cd deck there is a illumination/dimmer wire that isn't used on the Pioneer CD player I am using. I am wondering if I tie into that wire will it power the lights in my gauges and allow them to dim with the dash lights using the dimmer switch. I have been discussing this with JT (hissin50) in PM's , but neither one of us is sure if the factor wiring as an illumination/dimmer wire that corresponds to the one on the adpater harness or not. Any idea?

Try it and see? What harm can it do?

That's true. I did do some testing this morning with my test light. I found that the factory plug has a Light Blue/Red wire and an Orange/Black wire that both get power when the headlight switch is turned on and both dim the test light as I turn the dimmer switch.
