Question for -11 mustang owners (v6 and 5.0)

i took one for a test drive the other day and noticed that there was no gas cap.
whats the deal with this?
how do you keep people from stealing you gas?

They started that in 2010 models. In order to get a tube into the gas tank you would need to push in the 2 side clips in the "gas hole" Anyway... the problem is that if you run out of gas, you cant just stick in a gas can nossel... so they include a special funnel adapter in the spare tire compartment. At first not having a gas cap was weird but now i really like it. By the way... what are you doing putting gas into a test drive car?

never put cas in it just looking over the car. i like to look at EVERTHING

I love the capless filler, works great. Once for some reason the pump didn't stop when it was full and started gushing gas out, but I think that was the fault of the nozzle and not the capless system. As for filling the tank if you run out of gas somewhere, 1. I try not to run out of gas. 2. There is an included special funnel in the trunk.

Ford's answer to people that can't put on a gas cap and end up at the dealership getting the CEL reset. I would hate to see how much a year they were paying in warranty claims for evap leaks.

i drove the car with the package i wanted for a good hour and it was on E when i got in her. it was worth the 4.50 to check it out.
