In exhaust shops they use a paste for small leaks and holes. It is the kind that sets up immediately due to the heat from the exhaust, the stuff i saw was white. I need to know the name of this stuff as i need to get some of it. Does anybody know the name of the fast setting stuff?

i found this on the internet. i don't know if it is what you were looking for. Holts Gun Gum Bandage FEATURES AND BENEFITS
# The undisputed number 1 repair bandage
# Ideal for larger holes and splits in silencer and exhaust systems
# Asbestos free, easy to use, permanent repair.

I don't know what it is called but if it is the exhaust path kit at autozone it really works. A friend of mine (as a temp fix) cut his egr tube in half for a 1in spacer install and sealed the two pieces togeather with a white paste and aluminum foil that comes in the kit. Yes it says to let it heat up before it will fully seal and harden. Sorry don't know what it's called but again it really works

yes, actually both comments will help greatly. I will have to check the autozone kit to see if enough comes in it, it should. I always thought the autozone ones would just be a junky clamp on type patch.

The holts type stuff is what i was really looking for, but hey both are probably using the same white paste. the hole is tiny, and the rest of the pipe will hold up for a while. mainly though i wanted a container of it, because i am always running into small holes in my or some friends cars. i may buy the holts stuff anyway to have a bigger can

thanks to both of you.
