I'm currently on vacation in Florida, specifically, Tampa/Sarasota/Naples area. I cannot believe the number of imports down here! Its unreal compared to the midwest. Seems like the riced up imports outnumber the modified Mustangs/Camaro's I've seen by about 10:1. All night long I can hear them roaring up and down the highway. Is that normal for this area or is there an import convention somewhere?

Also, what's Bradenton dragway like? I'm thinking about taking a trip there on Sunday just to check things out. Will it be pretty busy and whats the atmosphere like there?

Yup... thats normal. Guess there is one draw back for living in Florida... but none of them seem to want to race when your at a stop light. It's when your cars parked is when they act bad

You think there is bad, you should come down to SOUTH FL!!

I live only a few miles from where some of the second part of Fast and Riciest was filmed.

I cant ride down a street without one farting up next to me!

The big cities that I frequent in the midwest (Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis) seem to have a decent amount of muscle cars. They don't seem to be overdominated with imports like this area. I have seen a heck of alot more exotic cars down here though, like Porches and Ferraris

I don't have my car with me, I flew down here and I'm driving a 2001 Sable, not sure how I'd do at the strip with that. I just wanted to go check Bradenton out and see what cars are running there.

RC, where exactly are you? I'm in Naples now with my Grandparents, even for an old retirement place there are a ton of imports around here. I can hear them every night with the window open in my bedroom.

It's funny to think that we're a dying breed. Instead of buying a mustang, kids would rather buy an imported 4 cylinder and spend thousands and thousands of dollars to make it as fast as a stock Mustang.

Correction... they spend thousands and thousands on dollars making the car LOOK fast. I think I've only seen a few quick imports around town and thats only because they have nitrous hooked up to them and still don't break 13's

Havent raced there but watched friends raced at bradention dragway, nice track, good place to meet other stangers/ camaro buddys :nice: all good, but rice is there too  whats this hot looking civic runs a fast run of 18.42 in the 1/4 mile :rlaugh: , my dodge caravans faster :rlaugh: , and yes the ricers are all in the big citys, come up to pasco county where i live and its about 3:1 ratio, its funny when you willing to race one at a stop light they dont want to race, then 10-15secs later they do the ricer fly by  :nonono:

If you cross ALigator Alley from Naples, Joe, Jose, Javi, and I are about 20-25 minutes from the exit on the East side.

That's about 90-100 minutes from the Naples area.

I live in a town of about 40,000 and we have a ton of ricers. They are all like 92' Accords with a fart can and gold rims. There are a few new Acuras which I can stand if they are used as a nice daily driver, not a race car. We do have a bunch of Mustangs though. There is a bad 12 second H/C/I Fox-bodied GT and 3 Saleens that I know of. There are quite a few late model GT's and Cobra's and even a couple 03' Cobra's. They are all stock as far as I know. A friend of mine has one of the yellow Saleens and runs pretty strong. It has a smaller ProCharger and some assorted bolt-ons. I wish I knew the other guys with Mustang's but there isn't a place to "hangout" really. I see a few at the car wash but most seem to be either too young or too old to want to talk.
