I just got a 40th Anniversary Ford Mustang GT Convertible and I have a question and by briefly reading some of the posts, feel this is place to ask.

What should I do FIRST to improve on the Cars performance/Power?

I know that there are alot of things I can do but I want to find out from yall's experiences what should be done first. Thanks!

Check out the modification thread list on the top of the 4.6 tech forums. Good start is always cat-back exhaust, a higher gear ratio, mid-pipe for you exhaust, then usually starts to change depending on your goals, ie. are you looking for a 400HP beast or just a daily driver that is a little nicer than stock? Good luck, use the Search function on the top and you can find several basic mod questions answered in detail from prior posts similar to this one. :flag:

For the best S.O.T.P. (seat of the pants)feeling get gears. They are a little pricy on the install, but are worth the $$ . It will drive like a totally different car. I put in 4.10's I have a 2003 gt Centennial Edition . I have a stock tremeck 3650 transmission at 90 MPH in 5th gear I only tack 3000 RPM'S. You can get gears for $139 plus $80 to $100 for an install kit and another $90 for a speed calibrator to fix your speedometer. Labor is usually around $300 to $500 .Dont screw around with a cat back system its a waste the gains are minimal. If you want better flow and sound out of your exhaust just weld in some original 40 series flowmaster mufflers ($60 each) then put on a mac off road h pipe ($130). H pipes have a deeper sound and xpipes sound more raspy. If you want your car to sound like a 60's muscle car do the original 40 series and the off road h pipe. If you have $3000 to $5000 skip all the above and get a super charger and an intercooler. If you do get a super charger people say not to go higher than 3.73 for gears. A supercharger kit can add 100 to 150 horsepower to a stock motor.
