Hello @ all,

I´m going to change the thermostat from my mustang and so i must refill some cooling water. Should i add some coil fluid to the new water, for the lubrication of the water pump?

We have some oldtimers at home and we make the expierence when adding coil fluid they begann to leak at some gaskets because the coil fluid creeps under the gaskets...

For now the engine is leak proof and i dont want that to change...

Any suggestions?

mmh, studying the dictionary: the coolant, antifreeze...

For the winter you put it in your cooling system ... it changes the freezing point of the water... >> no freezing...

i hope that description will help...

You should always use antifreeze in your radiator water. It raises the boiling temperature and lowers the freezing temperature. It also prevents rusting and corrosion.
