Hey guys-

Quick question, Can 1997, 1998 Mk Viii fans have there electrical motor removed and replaced??? I know 1993-1996 can, Just wondering, because my fan took a crap on me friday, and the motor is $119 compared to a new 98 fan from rockauto @ $199. I would love to reuse my old shroud, its cut perfectly already..
Also what is the motorcraft part number for the electrcal connector? mine melted on friday with the motor... :(

Thanks Anthony

hey

yes, they are riveted in but you can drill them out and use bolts to replace - the motors should be about $60-$70 and they are a Siemens motor.

Thanks Tmoss.... One more question for ya, Do you think the fan blades are high speed balanced or somehting like that or its a swap it in, plug and play? I was thinking about that. Hmmmmmmmmmm! Have you ever did one? how did it come out?

Thanks Anthony

P.S. Have you ever heard of anyone, utilizing a 10 gauge quick disconnecting fitting soldered on, instead of using that male harness which usuallly craps out on ya all the time. i would think solder would be better than anything? woudl ya think?
