Hi, Wondering if anyone know anything about the Explorer intake,I was told it should bolt on like the stock intake U/L. Any custom works needed . How about a picture ? And is it better then stock ( more flow ) ?

Thanks,

Kin.

It flows a little less then the Cobra and the Cobra flows a little less then the GT-40. The lower can still be ported out so it will flow as good as the top dollar manifolds. I heard something about needing to find one with the EGR setup becuase some dont come with them.

Basically, the upper looks like stock, but the lower has the staggered ports like a GT-40/Cobra.

CFM flow rates are as follows..

Exployor 189 CFM
93 cobra 199 CFM
GT-40 200 CFM

The lower is GT-40 on all 3 intakes. If you are installing on a fox mustang, there are a few extra hoses and holes that will need to be plugged under the bottom portion of intake. I believe 2 to be exact. You can use a standard EGR spacer, but some plugs will not be used.

I use one on my red car, Kin. It is basically a Cobra intake. They flow better or worse than a Cobra depending on the test. They vary a little depending on year, but it will bolt on. The only potential issue is the EGR valve. some models do not have provisions for the hot air from the lower intake. You will need to look at yours. The other issues are vacuum lines but you can work those out. You'll have some tubes to cap.

'95/'96 are the ones to look for to get the EGR connections, correct?

Mine is actually from a 97 Mountaineer and it has the needed connections.
