I'm restoring my '67 and the paint has some serious oxidation. I'm using some rubbing compound now and it is turning out great. Below is a pic of just one coat of compound on one side of the trunk.
I usually have to do this about every 3 months. Does anyone know if there is a coat of something like maybe wax I can put over the compound to make the new paint look last longer?

I'll eventually spring for a new paint job, but it's not in the cards right now.

I am afraid that paint is dead ,nothing will keep it shinny for long .
