i just got by car back from ford they changed my syncros and it was all covered. but i was wondering if i should take my short shifter off. idk if its going to mess up the syncros again. any thoughts. is it fine or should i just take it off

if that messed up the synchros i would think that they'd have mentioned it and possibly denied your claim.

It shouldn't. If you're really worried about it, though, purchase the MGW shifter. I've never heard one complaint over it. I really liked my Hurst. I liked the notchiness of it. But everyone that didn't like it switched to the MGW and loved it.

Short shifter will not damage your synchro gears, if you have an 08 like your SN suggests the manuals transmissions on that year model were plagued with issues.

its not the shifter. its the power shifting that goes along with it that we all do... aftermarket shifters with the stop ring on them that stops you from overshifting actually saves your tranny by taking stress off the shifter forks
