Hey all, I've been out of the mustang game for several years now. I previously own an 87 GT T-Top and an 89 LX notch.

I'm looking at picking up an 05-07 GT this spring and I just had a few questions. I was planning on building a DIY Twin turbo. However I have ZERO knowledge on the 4.6 motors. Can anyone tell me how much power the stock motor, trans, and rears can handle? I was thinking about 8-10lbs boost via twin t3's. Thanks!

From what I've heard the weak part on the 3V is the rods, and the max you can safely run is 450 rear wheel HP. Beyond that, it's a ticking time bomb.

When these were "THE" Mustang, the Ford Racing supercharger kit was rated at 550bhp for manual transmission. The weakest link if you have any sort of traction will be the factory clutch however with this 3 link suspension set up traction with a supercharger kit is not easily obtained. LOL

These engines can’t handle crazy power. A twin turbo on a non forged engine is crazy excessive boost!! If you take out the engine and forge it, that would be a crazy awesome build. What is your goal hp wise? It’s the main question you gotta ask yourself because that’ll set the build. If 450rwhp is your goal then a supercharger set up will be much easier to get and make that hp lvl. Twin turbo to get to 450rwhp is over kill to me. What’s the money you plan on spending on the car and mods?
