Questions about T-5

i need a t-5 trany. so ive been looking for one. well a friend of mine found one for me he said and the guy told him it came out of an old ford truck, but i would have to change the tailshaft becasue the shifters are in differant places. on is in the middle and the other is on the rear of the shaft. can any one tell me if this is true and if so what truck did this t-5 come out of and will it work if it did come from a truck and what all would i have to change. i have an 89 mustang gt.

T-5 never came in Ford trucks.


It did come in chevy blazers and if this is what the guy has than you don't want it. It's non-WC.

In addition to changing the tailshaft to make it work, you'd need to get a Mustang t-5 top cover and shifter rail setup.

Just get the right trranny

My sisters 96 Ranger has a T5. I think its a t5.
