ive noticed since i got my car retuned after the cams, i have alot more top end .. which was expected.. but its harder for me to chirp the gears. whats up with that?? i read somewhere else that a guy got his tuned and felt the same thing, so he took down his spark advance (i think its called) and regained some torque. the guy who tuned it did it on the street and he left the tune on the programmer open for me to make changes as i please (he treated me like i really knew what i was doing with the tuner), so now i have a change or something i wana try fiddling with, but is the spark advance what i need to bring down? what are the effects of doing that? also, i smell fuel when idling and after gettin out the car, could i be running rich too? i got no leaks, and it didnt before this tune. thanks

ok peeps.. could somebody just tell me if advancing the spark gains power and loses torque or just gains power or what? and then if u do that, what should i do woth my a/f ratio. im just messin around a bit, the tuner made it so i cant adjust anything to unsafe measures.

you really wouldnt know where you are at without a wideband sensor to tell you the A/F ratio maybe you are to rich and either do or dont have enough timing.....If the guy tuned it on the street did he use a wideband sensor to see where your A/F ratio is at? sorry to ask a few questions back instead of answering yours but something dont sound right in your tune

yea he did. he said the a/f ratio was off but he got it right on. im gonna leave it how it is, but if theres a "rule" for advancing the timing and adding fuel id do it. it runs great how it is, but im gettin a little curious cause he said it had a bit more in it, but i told him to make it pretty "safe" at the time.

oh ok you should get it on the dyno then so they can adjust it and make it a bit more aggressive but still on the safe side..........when dealing with a major mod like taht you cant just mess with the timing and A/F with out motoring it
