I did the PI install today and everything went smoothly for the most part...I will go into detail in another thread when I have more time but here are the issues I am working with
Car runs fine and seems to run normal.
Check engine popped on after maybe 10 miles.....(getting that checked tommorow)
I have an aftermarket autometer water temp gauge that I had plugged into the drain plug in the block...I removed that sending unit and used put the second stock sending unit there (99+ only have 1).....My friends and I were thinking maybe we could splice my autometer sending unit wire into the stock gauge sending unit...problem was there was two wires for stock and one for my aftermarket....so we tried both...one wire didn't work and the other seems to make my fan stay on..(I think). that brings me to the other problem.
My fan is on all the time......I know someone else had this problem but don't remember who and what the fix was....Is this bad for the fan to be on all the time....I don't plan on driving it anymore than I need to...but I don't have a lot of time to work on my car right now....have finals all this week as well as work.
let me know what you guys think......and does anyone know of a way to splice my autometer gauge into the factory sending unit? would rather do that then have to tap my thermo housing.
oh I also changed my thermostat to a 180...I don't think that would affect anything
