a guy down the street owns a 98 cobra and autocrosses it and he is selling a pair of 17x8 cobra wheels with kuhmo victoracers on it for 175, the wheels are in great condition but I dont know about the tires, would these help me out on the track since I'm an auto?
you talking about the drag strip?? Assuming that you are, those are the same size wheels as the stockers. If they are lighter than your wheels, then go for it. To get better traction at the strip, you need to get some drag radials. Another option is buy 2 of the wheels and have some DRs mounted on them. That way, you can slap the DRs on when you go to the strip and have your stock wheels for daily driving.
What kind of rubber is on them wheels? How is the tread? If you friend did some serious autocross action, that reeks havoc on tires, and since you already have 17x8's on you stang I don't think it will help much down the 1320.
