How do you disconnect the computer? I'm about to weld in subframe connectors and it was suggested that I disconnect the battery and the computer before welding on the frame. So how do I do it? Sorry if this is a stupid question thanks in advance for all help!
I'm not sure if you really need to disconnect the computer or not. I disconnected the battery in my cars and never had a problem. I guess if you want to disconnect the computer to be safe just remove the passenger side kickpanel, pull out the comp. and disconnect it there.
Im no expert on welding subframe connectors, but I would assume that they are worried about the magnetic field that would be created from the friction and heat of welding on the connectors. As im sure you know, static is very bad for computers. previous post sums up the directions on removal.
