in my 02 GT...a Fusible Link is made to protect 12ga. or heavier wired systems, if this is bad (blown) am I able to see the problem just like a regular fuse?
or do these even go bad?

if bad, do I expect to see it burnt?

ok here is a pic of a fusible link.
my question is, if these go bad will I be able to tell just from visual inspection like a regular fuse?
or do these even go bad?

It depends on the amperage. If you had a dead short you might see a slight browning of the wire but most of the time its dirty enought to look as if it were bernt when its not. Best thing I can suggest is get a volt meter that has a continuity option. That way you dont assume its good and look elseware.

Yeah I agree jtroush2002, just perform a continuity test, or measure resistance through the link. But be sure to back out your leads and remember .05ohms or less is good in most cases.
