Well i searched but couldnt find anything although i swear that this has been discussed. Anyway im finally getting around to workin on the short block since the suspension is done and i noticed this with the head gaskets. These are the same gaskets i used before but i dunno if i didnt notice it or something. Is this normal or do i need to change the head gaskets or exacto the water jackets out? This is the front drivers #5 cylinder that is being pictured. The rear water jacket is fine but the front is not there?

just make sure you put the "front" in front. One will be upside down.

It has to do with the cooling flow, if you had them backwards (with the opening in the front) you get an overheating issue.

The only gasket you should cut is the lower intake to head gasket at the water port as most have a piece that hangs out past the head/intake into the flow of coolant.

Looks nice BTW, anymore pics?

Im pretty sure it suppose to have holes there those are coolant passages or else whats the point of having them drilled into the block is the gasket is going to block them

The water jackets are at the back of the block, in the same location. They look exactly the same just behind the #4/8 cylinders.
