Ok guys doing my 5 lug swap and I notice my balljoint is toast,

Now instead of buying replacement Fox Ball joints from the parts store and having to worry about the bloody washer thing can I just buy SN95 Balljoints and press them in?

And BTW how do you get our Balljoints out? Hit them down with a hammer or press them up?

NEED QUICK REPLIES!

Im looking your way on this one :nice:

Yes, I used SN95 Balljoints to avoid using a spacer....

To get the balljoint out, raise the car, and put a jackstand on the tip of the arm. Make sure it's holding it good, and does not touch or interefere with the balljoint. Lower the car a little bit to put some weight on the arm, but not all the way. Now take your hammer and go to town on the balljoint. Hit the base of it, but try not to mushroom it as it has to fit through a tight hole.

 Cheers Chris ;)

Off to get a new set now,

Might as well do them at this stage as Id hate to do them later,

Wish me luck guys in my 5 Lug swap ;)

Should have some good pics for you guys when Im finished,
Im also loweing the car,
and I have 99 Cobra 5 Lug wheels with brand new tires,
Gonna look sweeeet :nice:

Cool. Do you have a balljoint press? And when installing the boots, be VERY careful not to rip them, Put a huge socket on it so it fits around the ring of the boot, and just softly hammer it on. This is the best way to do it to prevent ripping it.
