Quick Question About Driveshaft Swap

I know the driveshaft from a 95 wont fit my 96 due to the input shaft being 31 spline vs 28...but if i swap the input shaft on the driveshaft would it work? According to american muscle, they are the same lengths and diameter, so only the splines are whats different..

I did this with my 96, I used an aluminum FMS driveshaft from a fox car, swapped the input shaft and it worked fine.
