I just installed the Diablo Predator tune in my car a few weeks ago. I installed Diablos tune that is in there and left it at that. I noticed that my fan kicks on now constantly. Is that right? If I go turn it off manuelly would my engine over heat? thanks guys

I have the performance tune too, and have no issues with the fan running all the time. Not sure what is wrong?? I have heard this question asked before though.

The predator tune makes the fan run more than stock. They want to keep the engine nice and cool. You can cut it back if you want, but I just leave mine like it is.

No fan issues with my Predator tune. Does your Predator have the most recently updated tune? I believe it should be "r50d".

How do you find out if your tuner has the most recent update? By the way I have a predator.

When your Predator boots up, look in the upper right hand corner, it will show your current revision there. Chances are, you DON'T have the most current revision. You need a serial cable and a home power adapter to upload the most current revision. Back to your original question, yes, the fan comes on more than without a tune. You can solve this one of two ways:
#1: Change the settings in the predator for when the fan turns on.
#2: The better choice and the one I did, change to a 180 degree thermostat.

I installed the Predator tune last week but hadn't really driven the car much until today. I have the latest updated and I also noticed the fan is always on once the engine is at operating temperature. I took down the cooling fan temps for the factory tune and the performance tune and realized that the diablo tune really is set for a 180 degree thermostat. It's supose to turn off the fan at 192F which is kind of hard with a 195F thermostat. I just set them a bit closer to stock but not exactly the same. I retryed and it runs more normal now. Just make sure to keep the same diffrences in degrees between the ON and OFF of the fan settings. I think I will look into a 180 degree thermostat. For you guys that have a 180, did you notice any benefits to the cooler running engine ?
