I found a used TKO 600 I'm thinking about buying, but it was used on a 2003 Mustang GT. Will I be able to use it? I'm thinking it'll work, just the bellhousings are different... Anything else I should know before purchasing?

A TKO is a TKO. I went through a week of hell trying to get it to work in my car. Get the driveshaft spacer, and you'll have to add spacers underneath the tranny mount. With my car the tranny was almost hitting the tunnel and actually hit the tunnel going over large bumps. I ditched it and went with the G-Force wich has been perfect so far.

To try to "simplify" the installation you can use your stock exhaust hanger mount that is on the crossmember that the stock t-5 bolts onto if you cut part of the tailshaft housing off the tremec. Its useless and only there because the tranny can be used in a million applications. What u cut off will effectively not allow it to be used in the f-body cars im pretty sure. Let me find the corral link where it talks about all this in detail with pictures....

Make sure you index the bell too....

Here is the link.....

Edit: Looks like they also mod the plate too....i will be doing one of those while the car is in pieces.

My TKO-500 install was straight forward, just as easy as my first T-5 re install. Fit good jsut a little heavier so u might need a helper or a tranny jack. I just got an offset trans mount from www.bieberfever.com and it fit like the stocker.

Did you use a spacer or the stock plate thats between the c-member and the tranny?

I think you told me before, but whats that offset trans mount part number? I think you said its off a 96 cobra or something?
