Quickie... stock 66 gas tank size?

16 gallons right? Just checking because my gas gauge isn't all that accurate and hits E with at least a third of the tank to go, and it'd be nice to know how much is left under there...

When I ran out of gas in my 65 it only took 14 gallons to fill it back up same as the old falcons even though my owners manual says 16. Most after martket tanks are at least 16 gallons though. Since you never know for certain without running out of gas it might not be a bad idea to keep an extra gallon of gas in the trunk if your gadge is acting up. Always better safe then sorry.

my 66 has a 16 gallon tank, though i will be putting in a 22 gallon tank from a 70 mustang eventually.

When my 66 points empty I end up putting in 12 gallons. I've never completely ran out.
