I actually saw one of those in auburn when i first got my new engine finished up. so I gunned it next to him and then he gunned it. He flew past me, then slowed back down and started talking **** to me. It was a black one with gold wheels. "Thats all that thing has?" "damn that things slow". haha

thats when you laugh at him for paying $95,000 more than him for his car when $95,000 in a mustang will run what, 6's??

the car i got pricked by was silver with stock wheels. it had a chrome rollcage in it, and the more i think about it the less i think it was an actual race. damn him and his 5/8ths throttle...

i think it's about time to get my pistons flycut and throw on my aluminum heads and intake.

450 crank hpish?? im tempted to skip school tomorrow and clay the motor. if those valves fitted. i'd **** myself with joy. and then **** myself again as i explode my rear end. with joy.

edit: 11.5 compression and .520 lift : good for some nice power...

Not to doubt your story, but GT3's are super rare and to pull on one from a roll would require a lot of car...

If the guy gave you the bird, chances are he wasn't racing. I bet it surprised him though!

I'd chalk it up as a win!

With it only having 415 HP at the crank I dont know if it would take too much to pull on the fwy... Honestly even with an efficient porsche that still is around 380 at the wheels... Not too hard to beat really. Much more to the equation than that I realize, but eventually power and weight will reign supreme. I can name SEVERAL stangs I know that will walk all over that Porsche from a roll or stop...

Congrats on kill/whatever you wanna call it!

From a roll... I don't think that there are many that would walk it for long.

I mean... top speed for these things being between 180 and 200 MPH depending on the year etc...

The flying brick (Fox body) starts getting a bit squirrelly at 130... 160 and you and god are conversing about why your life should be spared. hehe

For some reason I must have the odd fox... Father in his 03 cobra and myself in the fox enjoyed a nice lil strip of 160+ for about 3-4 miles... went by kinda quick! Either way, it can be done and pulling it shouldn't be too hard. Depends on setup.

darn it, you guys are lucky, ever since I put in the new motor I haven't even come across anything worth while. there was one wrx but there wasn't enough room to have any real fun.

Easy there turbo... I would assume the darn squeaky belt is a blower and more than enough power. Now granted, my 88' saleen did see sustained speeds of 145 which a good portion of these guys can attest too, so with some suspension and more power, I don't see why 160 isn't attainable in the fox. It's a brick, yes, but not impossible.

So, ask more questions about his car before raising the flag

I think if you go back and "read", you won't find any post of mine indicating that 160 is not attainable in a Fox (been there, done that). Its much more a question of stability of the Fox in stock trim at those speeds.

So form your own questions and posts and I'll worry about mine there junior.

I agree in stock trim with out any kind of added downforce or suspension, 160 is probably not attainable, or at least not without changing your huggies. I am not looking to argue, just saying the BS flag was prematurely brought out.

On a side note, I don't appreciate the Junior tone smart A.

Thank you.

I still enjoy these types of conversations so I would like to add my experience.

My first Saleen (89 model yr hatchback) had H/C/I with an A trim Supercharger, no cats, headers, RR, 3.55's, etc. Anyways, it probably made somewhere between 350 and 375 rwhp, I had it all the way in the Red in 5th gear, and I could only get it to 155mph on the way to Belleve. So I always have a hard time believing these cars will reach beyond that unless its making 400 plus rwhp and is geared for it. It took quite a ways to reach that speed too.

Please keep in mind, if your still using a factory speedo, the faster your going, the more they become misleading for actual speed data.

Comparing the GT3 12.20 1/4 time means very little to you unless your at a 1/4 mile track, less if your on the street and absolutely nothing from a roll. You have to note that it was 12.20 at 118 which really puts you door to door with an 11.50ish 1/4 mile track car. The ET for the porsche is low, because the 60' and 330' times the thing probably was just getting going. Showing someone your ET slip is just a good slip to brag about your tires, its the mph where the power comes from.

1/4 Mile ET: 12.110
1/4 Mile MPH: 117.810
1/8 Mile ET:

You're absolutely right. After 100, these speedo's are not completely accurate. GPS is our friend. And of course the only way to see that your fox is doing 160 steady is with a GPS. The Saleen did take a while to get to 145, but once it was there, it felt pretty stable. I just had to keep my foot into it because it was a brick in the wind. I have had the cobra up around there, but without any good downforce, it feels unhappy, lol.

I used to run around with a friend who had a twin turbo 911 and man was that thing fast. It was very capable of a low 12 high 11. It regularly saw 170ish, but it was much more sleek and had a lot of more power. I really dug the wing that was speed actuated though. That was fun.

Although my car may appear to be stock form, its far from. Is it in race trim? Nope. But a couple suspension mods have been made. As for the validity to all who question? I dont need you to validate crap, but if your up to it feel free to ask and I can show you, just let me know.

At the time I had 3.27's for gearing and was in fifth gear and was not using MY speedo, as those of you who are "all knowing" about foxs will realize that the speedo stops at 140.... Do the math. The old mans Cobra read 160. If you would like to question him then be my guest. If a stock 5.0 does est 143 mph topped out, why it is so hard to believe a h/c/i and supercharged and tuned car can do 160??? hmmmmm

"you know how fast you were goin?"
"nope, speedo dont work after 85, and i went through two more gears"
