racing stripes and sizes...

well the paint goes on my 65 coupe this weekend(if all goes as planned) i decided to go with Ford's 04 Dark Shadow Grey Met. im going to put black racing strips also to break up the color a lil. my question is how should i go about picking the size of stripe and where to put them. i dont like the real big ones but i dont like the lil tiny ones. i have a 2 1/2 cowl hood also so i was thinking starting the strips about an inch or so fron the corner of the cowl? ideas, suggestions and pics please. thanks guys

The reason the ralley stripes are tapered is to account for the perspective angle when viewing the stripes. If the stripes were a constant 10" front to back, they would look narrower towards the cowl than on the nose when viewed from the front.

Another option would be a stripe scheme used on the Super Snake.
