are you asking how far to thread the outer tie rods onto your new rack?
the best way i know of is to ensure the dimenions of the old and new rack are the same. use a ruler to measure the old ones, and transfer them on to the new rack.
no matter, you should go get an alignment. but that gets it close enough to get to the shop. good luck.
