well i flushed the radiator today but when i went to screw in the petcock, it now leaks!? it wasnt doing that before, where can i get a new one and how do i get the old one out? its on the stock radiator which is fine BTW.

now for my fuel issue, there must be alot of air in my tank since i had not filled it in months, so today i ran out of gas and was trying to fill it up but the gas just kept puking out of the fuel door, and possibly somewhere on that fuel elbow that connects to the tank. what can i do to remedie this and if i need a new tank elbow where can i pick one up?

thanks in advance.

radiator petcock. i cant remember on the stang, but many cars have an O-ring to seal it. check your oring. that could be it. i hate those things - i prefer to pop the bottom rad hose off to drain.

fuel: make sure your vent is not clogged. you now how if you pour a can of soup out of the can, it barely comes out, unless you put another hole in the top on the other side (otherwise, it creates a vacuum and the fluid does not come out). kinda the same thing on a tank.

also, some cars have a check valve in the filler system (newer cars). if that valve is bad, you will have to fuel up really slowly, or else gas splashed back out.

my two cents worth. good luck.

By the way, if the car's been sitting and you're experiencing fuel system issues as you describe, it's entirely possible that the radiator isn't in the best shape internally. Did you have the tanks off a look at the core to determine that it's "OK"? In good ole El Paso, you're gonna need all the radiator you can get. Might be worth the few bucks invested to take that thing across the 'street' to Juarez where you can probably get it cleaned, rodded, a new pet **** installed all for about $30 US.
