I have a code for a random misfire at idle. I was told that the cam profile would cause that code, but I actually felt what seemed like a misfire. First gear, rolling 3 mph barely touching the gas, and it felt like traction control kicking in. I also have a code for PCM memory loss, but was told that flashing the computer with EFI solutions would create that code as well.

The car has had issues ever since August when I first had the heads and cams done. The car was LAZY on the dyno down low, and that was attibuted to the stage 3 porting done to the heads. So, I bought NEW stage 1 heads and stage 2 cams, and the two dyno's MIRROR the curve as it did with the stage 3 heads, but it made more power.

So, can somebody here please give me ANY inputs as to what is wrong with this car.

Setup is
80mm MAF
24lb injectors
Bullit intake
Stage 1 VT heads and stage 2 VT cams
FMS shorty headers
Bassani X pipe (was an O/R prochamber in August)
Magnaflow Catback.

As much as I try to believe that there is nothing wrong with this car, I cant stop thinking that there is. As I said, originally I was told it was the head porting. Got the right porting for N/A setup and it still mirrors the curve. The torque drops, then comes back up and levels off, but compared to other similar setups, it's missing ALOT down low. Does ANYBODY have any suggestions? I am thinking PCM.

you definately need a chip and dyno tune if possible with those mods.

Not sure. I have had my cams for 2 months (stock heads thou) and never recieved a random misfire code. A friend of mine who has the same cams as I do gets it every so often. The only thing I can think of is a dyno tune or reflash of the computer.

It has been tuned on the dyno. I am going back to ty and get it figured out on Saturday. Just trying to get an idea of some things to have the techs look at that they may not be thinking of.

Check to make sure the crank bolt was torqued down to specs when they did the cams. If it isn't there can be a little play in the crank trigger. It may stay in the right place most of the time, then once in a while wiggle out of place and cause the misfire code, which doesn't always trigger the SES light. I think it has to do it three cosectutive times before it throws the light. Mine would sometimes do it after 20 miles, and sometimes it would take 120 miles.
