Ratchet sound

When i am going down the street like next to a wall or a car my car is making a ratchet like sound. I went to a wall at a very low speed and it sounds like everytime my wheel is turning it sounds like a mini socket ratchet when going backword. any suggestions?

some locker's make that sound (usually when turning)...Have you ever seen what is in your rear end..Maby someone had a Locker installed.

my car did that when i had the ebrake disconnected during my 5 lug conversion. i guess it keeps the drums in adjustment....maybe crank it a few times and see if it goes away

yeah my car makes the same sound...like when ur driving by those construction barriers in the center of a road? i told the guy i bought the car from (boss's boyfriend, very trustworthy guy) that i was gonna get gears installed and he said he'd help me swap my entire stock rear for one he had sitting in his garage. He said it had 3.73s and an auburn somethin-or-other. He said it'd make a little more noise than my stocker. Guess this is what it is?

I think the auburn unit is noisey but a good solid piece. Alot of guys run them in thier 4X4's around here and say they are verry strong
