4v and 2v refer to the number of venturis, or barrels, of the carburetor originally fitted on the motor. In your case this shouldn't matter because you need a new set of heads any way you look at it.
The '77 351w is good, but all you want from that is the block and maybe the crank if you plan to go with a stock crank. Since it's a '77 it will probably be a low compression motor that won't make any power with those pistons.
My suggestion would be that 351w block bored .030 over and a 393 or 408 kit for the rotating assembly. Topping it off with a set of AFR heads and a nice solid roller or solid flat tappet cam, you will be well on your way to 450+ HP.
What does your budget look like and I can better get an idea of how fast you can really go... unfortunately a lot of the time cash = speed.
Yes and no... Mainly no.
They share MANY of the same dimensions and basic specs, even have a fair amount of parts that swap.
The bore spacing, web spacing, head bolt pattern, balance, tranny mount, engine mounts, flywheel/flexplates, and more, are all based on the same accessories or dimensions. Therefore they have much in common, and with some thought, can be hybrid or swapped for the other into a car easily.
They both have pros and cons like anything else.

Dollar for dollar, the W is the better bet.
Especially if you want to use light components to effectively gain more power from weight loss.
If money and time are easy, then the C can be turned into a monster.
