This stinks. Another hurricane thats going to rip stuff up; My insurance is five grand for each house. Imagine trucks full of brand new cars going to Cophers to be dismantaled. Im talking Lambroginis. Brand new Mercedes. BMW all hit with salt water. Not to mention TESLA'S on fire. How about an almost new Tesla truch soacked in salt water. The guy got a check for $145,000. I know because the guy was a special friend of my daughter. Boarding up my windows with my wife standing over me

My wife is previously from Sarasota. Left there 10 years ago. Still has close friends there that she's been in touch with these last few days.

Whole thing sucks. Good luck to you all down there.

I've lived in the 'Sunshine state' my entire life, mostly in Sarasota. I've been in quite a few hurricanes, grew up on Central Ave. between 11th st and 12th, always in block homes/buildings, I've seen things blown down the road that made you think WTF!! I watched a CONCRETE pool from a Lido Beach condo float out into the Gulf!!
Now Polk County is in the path of what may be a cat 3 or 4 hurricane.
Am I worried? Hell Yeah!! Not so much for me but for the others ill equipped to deal with the aftermath.
I won't beatup on Sarasota, I wish the residents well.
To Pete; keep your head down and your loved one's close, it's gonna be a ride!!
After all this is over Pete, think hard and long about living down here, there is some kind of natural danger anyplace you go.

I don't live far from the General and this one is going to be big... Only been in Florida for 13 years and I can assure you that I am concerned... I am in a non evacuation area with a concrete block ( very common build here in Florida) house that a few of my neighbors are going to hunker down with me in weds night into thursday. ... My concern is trees blowing over on my home..... Need em for the shade here, but they are scary watching 100 MPH winds blowing them around..

If y'all get washed out you can move to my little surface of the sun we call nevada, almost never rains,zero tropical storms,hurricanes,tornadoes, earthquakes,ect....
Ya just got four months of excessive heat ,you know like walking on the sun.

Alot of my relatives live in Fla. and the try and get me to move there. As soon as I seriously think about it ,here's Martin.

My friend is a tin hat guy who says Helene and Milton were created by cloud seeding and then they are moved with lasers..... Its all to disrupt voting in red states......

I have two paid for houses and we are thinking of cashing out in a few years for a real southern state. I have been here for more than thirty years the heat and storms are getting to me. We will see if we make it through this. The eye seems to be coming at me.

It should be patent US20130008365A1

Not exactly a practical patent. Drive around a bunch of submarines to mix the water up to bring cooler water up to the surface. Might work if you have 100,000 submarines in the gulf…

Back when I lived there she would be So. Sarasota, I lived north of Bee Ridge, lower income working class. Big rivalry between Sarasota High (north) and Riverview High (south), similar to the Civil War.
Of course it's all mixed up now,
